The Linkysys E2000 Wireless-N Router – Not Perfect - But Good Enough

The Linksys E2000 Wireless N-Router has pluses and minuses.  Of course, one big benefit is that you don’t need a bunch of cables for your Internet connection; which will surely become an ugly tangled mess.   With a wireless router, you can simply connect your computers, and other devices,  to  one wireless network.    Another great feature of this router is that it can be secured to keep away uninvited guests who want to steal your data; or tap into your Internet connection.

For installation, the Linksys E2000 Wireless N-Router comes with a CD and instructions.  The installation software is Cisco Connect, which walks you through each and every step.  This is the basic setup.  For techies, the advanced feature allows you to customize settings.

The design of the Linksys E2000 is meant to operate at wider ranges; which is really great for large homes and offices.  In addition, the special antenna amps up the performance of this router.  On the other hand, while most consumers are happy with the Linksys E2000, others have reported problems.  Some feel it performs better in smaller areas, rather than in larger spaces.

Linksys’ customer support is mostly online help.  This can be a problem if you cannot access the Internet to connect to their customer chat.  You will need to access the Internet from some other location to get help for your issues.  To be fair, they do have telephone support; which some customers are still not happy with.  Basically, the online chat is where you’ll get the most assistance, especially if you have a complicated problem with your router.

Although the Linksys E2000 Wireless N-Router  is not flawless, it is one of the most purchased wireless routers around.  Moreover, the Linksys brand is always reassuring when it comes to performance.
